Monkey Cupcakes

What child doesn't like monkeys? Especially if it's the topper on your favorite cupcakes. Well this birthday boy who turned 1 loved it. I made 12 vanilla cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting and another 12 in chocolate with vanilla buttercream frosting. Used yellow sprinkles to decorate around the edge of the frosting and made these cute little monkey faces with fondant. Then to make it more fun brought these decorative leaf liner cupcakes just to add that special jungle touch.

Boy and Girl Cupcakes

So I decided to make these special cupcakes for a boy and girl to celebrate the 4th of July. It's not your American Flag, but it's red, white and blue with a fun kid's topping. The cupcake is a dark chocolate cake with a creamy vanilla frosting. For the girl, red sprinkles with a daisy fondant with a dark chocolate molded heart and rose for the topper. For the boy, blue sprinkles with a decorative round cutter fondant with a dark chocolate molded dinosaurs. Happy 4th!
